Identifying potential and existing leaders and helping them to improve their knowledge and skills for carrying out their voluntary commitment to the community.
Providing participants with practical understanding of how existing institutions in the county function and interact.
Providing participants with a diversity of leadership training skills.
Leadership Franklin County consists of a both and Adult & Youth Classes which meet together. This provides the Adults and Youth to network and mentor one another. Each participant will become involved in several civic/volunteer organizations.
Adult Class
The Leadership Franklin County: Adult Class is for those who work or live in Franklin County. The program gives adults an opportunity to network with others in the business community who are wanting to participate in making Franklin County a better place through volunteering, mentoring and being active in the community.
Youth Class
Leadership Franklin County Youth participants are for juniors who live in Franklin County. Each youth participant is assigned a mentor in the selected field of study that is indicated on their individual applications. The mentors assigned to the youth are knowledgeable and respected in there fields and in the community. This gives students the opportunity to learn about the specialty they wish to study in the future and provide networking opportunities to be used in the future.

COMMITMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Attendance at orientation and the retreat is mandatory and a total commitment of time is required to acquire a complete education. Full day classes are scheduled on the first Wednesday (Oct. - Mar.) from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. On State Government day in March we leave for Nashville.
THE APPLICATION AND SELECTION PROCESS
Each class is limited. The groups chosen will include a cross-section of adults and high school juniors who are broadly representative of the community. They will have demonstrated a desire to serve the community, a willingness to seek leadership roles, and a commitment to participate in their Leadership program. Applications may be obtained from the Chamber at (931) 967-6788 or for the youth at their school guidance office. The Leadership Franklin County Steering Committee will review all applications for the adult and the youth class. Those selected will be notified in August.
